I don't want to defend Riot in any way cause I think all of the backlash is deserved however it is directed in a wrong way. Balancing the game, releasing the skins, and adding engine features is handled by multiple teams so believe it or not: if they didn't make all those skins then artists would not be assigned to adding a core engine feature, they would probably get fired if the game wouldn't be as profitable as it is now. Another important thing is that riot used unreal 4 as a base and then stripped it from most of the features so the game can run on a low spec 10yo laptop so I must imagine it is a pain to add even less significant features than that. And lastly, it is a greedy corporation so if lack of this feature doesn't cause profits to drop (and developing it costs money) they simply don't care. I really hope I am wrong and they're actually planning on delivering replays at some point.

The fact that you quite literally made part of the game AND a replay system within a couple hours is mind boggling, i swear they just hate their community at this point 😭

Maybe the community just needs to bombard their every social media they have and even on Live Tournaments asking for Replay System. Those valorant devs are jusy way too lazy.

They won't add a replay system because it will expose how broken their netcode is, and they'd get flooded with MORE complaints about it. It has nothing to do with the technical difficulty of it, it has to do with maintaining the illusion that their game is good.

Imagine if the game is open source and let you create other versions for fun

I’m just saying you really don’t need a replay system 😂😂 if your pc can’t handle recording your gameplay via nvidia, overwolf, or obs it’s probably a lower end pc, which in and of itself will cap you from getting better, not only that but you can vod review yourself without having to see every players pov it’s really not that difficult to re watch and see mistakes

I think you have not understood what the difficulty in Valorant's replay system is. In an actual game you have 11 time lines. 1 for what each player is seeing on their screen + 1 server side timeline. Merging these is non trivial.

Btw valorant have replay system for moderators in riot. When you report someome for cheats, it willl save replay and riot mod will check it.

it's a fundamental misunderstanding in the community that Riot doesn't add a replay system because they are not able to. they do not want to add it, because it would absolutely destroy the illusion that there is no cheating in the game

Thank you, I'm a programmer and i see frequently the excuse that a replay system is difficult. It's.. literally not. At all. Actually making the game is 1000x the effort

yeah it all cool and shit but they have working replay system in league and it works just fine. so there is some points why they dont want to add replay. 1: first bullet accuracy, replay will prove that this system is bullshit and 60% of kills are random asf. 2: cheaters, we all know how great vanguard anti-cheat is but is it? because maybe it not and there s a lot of cheaters idk think about that
